  • Skit on sexism draws concern
This is an interesting article. As a Whitworth alum and a former Core 350 student, this would have been a good oportunity to expose students to the "real world" outside the pinecone curtain. I work in Spokane and I have been in situations described above, but no one was acting. Sexism is unfortunately alive and well in the workplace. Luckily, my workplace has taken disiplinary action against the "offender" and all is well. The Core 350 prof's should have stepped up and said, "Yes, this does still happen. Tell us how you'd handle it." This was a missed opportunity.

  • Form reveals assets, salary
So, you wrote and published a story about a form that is required by law to reveal the top salaries at Whitworth, and you didn't mention any of those salaries? Was that self-censorship or external censorship, a shameful lack of courage, or just bad journalism? Seems it had to be one of those, because obviously that was the most compelling and important part of the story, not that some bureaucratic form was filed or that the univ. paid a lot to the company building the previously-reported science building. Everybody loves B-Rob and thinks he's been great for Whitworth. Therefore paying him a half million dollars shouldn't be shameful. Omitting that news is.
