The fall athletic season comes to a close this weekend with a full plate of event. Beginning mid-week, the Whitworth volleyball team welcomes in the rival Missionaries from Whitman. In their first meeting the Bucs silenced the religious messengers 3-1 in Walla Walla. On Friday, the Bucs continue in action taking on the Boxers from Pacific.
On the south edge of Portland the Whitworth football team aims to keep their win streak alive against Lewis and Clark. Over my last three years at Whitworth, the Bucs have annihilated the Pioneers scoring a combined 160 points, while allowing LC to manage only 17. The Pirates hope to impose their will for a fourth straight year on the struggling Pioneers.
Both Men’s and Women’s Soccer teams will have their final home matches of the season on Saturday. Come out for senior day to watch both teams compete for a conference title and a trip to the post-season. The Women take on Lewis and Clark at 11:00AM while the men go to battle with Whitman at 1:30pm.
On November 7th both Men's and Women's swim teams take to pool for their first home meet. The men once again put their conference title on the line this year. The Bucs have won the NWC title the past eight seasons. For the women, they will look to avenge last year's second place conference finish to UPS. Both teams have meets on Friday and Saturday. Friday will be devoted to the NWC Sprint Pentathalon and Saturday will be devoted to the relay events. Don't miss the action!
