Women's swimming takes ninth out of 12 teams
Team holds their own against Division I schools

In a strong turnout at the University of Washington Husky Invitational this past weekend, the Whitworth women's swim team posted a ninth-place finish out of 12 teams, tied with Boise State, in their competition with teams from all over the nation, facing Division I through Division III teams.
"I think that we did really well the whole way," senior Sam Kephart said. "It’s pretty tough competition."
In Friday's 200-yard medley relay, the Pirates finished 11th with a time of 1:55.00. Kephart finished 16th overall in the 100-yard fly with a time of 57.01, with the team's highest individual finish. Freshman Ashley Lecoq swam 1:00.01 in the same event to take 32nd.
Sophomore Natalie Turner swam a 1:52.41 in the 200-yard free for 18th place with the second highest finish of the day for the Bucs.
In the 800-yard freestyle relay, the Pirates took ninth with a finishing time of 7:50.83.
