Women's sits in ninth at Husky Invitational

The Whitworth women's swim team maintained their ninth-place position Friday in the University of Washington Husky Invitational at the King County Aquatic Center, which continues through the weekend.
In Friday's 200-yard medley relay, the Pirates finished 11th with a time of 1:55.00. Senior Sam Kephart finished 16th overall in the 100-yard fly with a time of 57.01, with the team's highest individual finish. Freshman Ashley Lecoq swam 1:00.01 in the same event to take 32nd.
Sophomore Natalie Turner swam a 1:52.41 in the 200-yard free for 18th place with the second highest finish of the day for the Bucs.
In the 800-yard freestyle relay, the Pirates took ninth with a finishing time of 7:50.83.
So far, the total scores for the invite are: University of Southern California 899, University of Washington 831, University of Notre Dame 611.5, University of California-Santa Barbara 439, Oregon State University 397, University of Wyoming 310, University of Hawaii 190.5, University of California-Davis 169, Whitworth 142, Boise State University 129, Seattle University 126, and University of Puget Sound 64.
The meet continues until Sunday, Dec. 1.
