Caitlin Richmond, Scene EditorChristian rockers Anberlin will be playing at the Service Station on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m.
The band will be playing with BEAF, and Metro Station. Tickets are $13 in advance or $15 at the door, and can be purchased at TicketsWest, 4000 Holes, The Service Station, The Long Ear, Gonzaga and Whitworth. Anberlin played in Spokane last year at Fat Tuesdays, said Dale Strom, RAWK the Inland Northwest board member.
Anberlin has released two CDs on independent record label Tooth & Nail, "Blueprints for the Black Market" and "Never Take Friendship Personal." The band recently switched to Universal Republic Records, where it released its third CD, "Cities." They will also be releasing a CD of B-sides, called "Lost Songs" on Nov. 20 from Tooth & Nail.
The band's tour began in August, and ends in mid-December. The group is touring with Motion City Soundtrack, Mae and Metro Station, although only Metro Station will be playing in Spokane.
Alternative rock band Anberlin has been together since 2002, when the group signed with Tooth & Nail. All five members are from Orlando, Fla.
"I definitely think we have matured musically and broadened our listening tastes, coming into our own as a band," said lead singer Stephen Christian on Anberlin's Web site in reference to the band's change from its first release to its more recent albums.
Metro Station is an electro-pop band from Hollywood, Calif. The band was voted No. 6 on Alternative Press magazine's "22 Underground Bands that won't Stay Underground for Long." The groups sound is similar to that of Hellogoodbye.
BEAF is a Christian rock band from Spokane. They won RAWK Final Four in 2007, a five-part annual competition for bands.
The group has also opened for bands such as Thousand Foot Crutch and Hawk Nelson. On BEAF's MySpace, the band said "we try to have fun playing the music we love, while trying portray the Christian roots of our songs."
