Heavy snow warning in effect tonight

National Weather Service warns drivers to stay off roads

The National Weather Service issued a heavy snow warning through Thursday morning in Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

According to the National Weather Service, the warning is in effect for from 6 p.m. tonight through 7 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28 in the Spokane area.

According to the warning, there is a mixture of rain and snow forcasted to begin tonight and continue through Thursday.

Between 3 to 5 inches of snow are expected by Thursday morning, according to the warning.

It will begin snowing between 7 and 9 p.m., with the heaviest snowfall between 10 p.m. and sunrise, according to the warning.

The heavy amounts of snow in the forecast will create dangerous 
traveling conditions and people should only travel in an emergency,
according the warning.

Highs will be in the 20s and lows in the upper 10s for the rest of the week.
