Breaking loose from a close 47-46 lead early in the meet, the Whitworth women's swim team handily won Friday night's dual meet at Lewis & Clark College 121-84.

Although the Pioneers won three of the first five races, Whitworth was able to capture the victory by winning the next five of six events.

Senior Sam Kephart won the 50-yard freestyle, the 500-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly, sophomore Natalie Turner pulled a win in both the 1000-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle and junior Brittany Gresset won the 100-yard backstroke.

The Whitworth women also managed to win the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The Pirates next face Willamette University Saturday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. to continue their weekend Oregon tour.
