Below are some events to attend this weekend in Spokane, spanning films, expositions, comedy and musical artists.
Spokane Snow Show
When: Friday, Nov. 16, 3-9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 17, 12-6 p.m.
Where: Spokane Convention Center, downtown
What: An exposition for ski and snowboarding enthusiasts featuring indoor rail competitions, the film "Playground" by Warren Miller, as well as snow-sport related gear and paraphernalia.
Cost: Prices vary depending on attraction.
Banff Mountain Film Festival
When: Nov. 16-18
Where: Bing Crosby Theater, downtown
What: A film festival featuring films pertaining to outdoor sports from the Banff International Festival of Mountain Films.
Cost: $12 per day, or $32 for the weekend.
Comedian Chelsea Handler
When: Saturday, Nov. 17, 8 p.m.
Where: INB Performing Arts Center, downtown
What: Handler has had several television appearances on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno", as well as her own show, "Chelsea Lately", on E!.
Cost: $28.75. Tickets available from TickestWest.
The Shook Twins, Josh Hedlund, The Globes and Thomas Bechard
When: Saturday, Nov. 17, 7 p.m.
Where: Empyrean Coffee House, downtown
What: And accumulation of folk, indie and acoustic artists.
Cost: Unlisted. Purchase tickets at Empyrean.
Gwar, Horse the Band, The End
When: Sunday, Nov. 18 8 p.m., doors at 7 p.m.
Where: The Big Easy
What: The satirical metal band Gwar perform at The Big Easy with Metalcore artist, Horse the Band.
Cost: $17.50, ticketswest.com. $20 at the door.
