Freshman Ben Everett of Stewart took first place after a cheer-off from the crowd and a nod from the judges. He received the large trophy awarded to Mr. Whitworth and the fame that goes with the title.

Pirates awarded second McIlroy-Lewis All-Sports Trophy in school history

With six conference titles and four runner-up finishes this school year, the Whitworth Pirates won the NWC's most prestigious athletics trophy, the 2008 McIlroy-Lewis All-Sports Trophy, in recognition of athletic excellence.

Renovations, parking lot on agenda

Whitworth is set to spend more than $4 million on renovations, construction and maintenance for both current and summer projects. Projects include a new temporary parking lot, installation of new windows in Arend Hall, renovations of Westminster Hall and the Shalom Community Center, installing a new pool filtration system, expanding the track shed and resurfacing the gym floor in the Fieldhouse.
