INTERACTIVE ARTS COORDINATOR

Nicole Holland

Nicole Noelle Holland

Year: Senior
Major: Psychology and political science

Who are you?
I have been extremely blessed. My life so far has been a fascinating snapshot of people and places interwoven through my experiences in the United States and abroad. This has definitively shaped my love for people and how they choose to express themselves.

What do you do and why is it important?
I am an outlet for students to express their thoughts, dreams and ideas through artwork and self-expression. My position is a way for students to have a voice and be meaningfully represented in whichever creative way they may choose.

What main issues or ideas do you hope to focus on while you serve on ASWU?
I hope to really bring a sense of self-awareness and perception to students. I really want to expand this position and make it more than just hanging artwork in the HUB - I want it to be something that students can both contribute to and enjoy equally, and through this student expression, make a lasting impact on the campus.

What is at least one common misconception about your work or ASWU?
A common misconception is that my job only consists of putting up pieces of art in the HUB.

What is important for students to know about your work?
The freedom of expression and freedom of individuals to uniquely create are both things that are really close to my heart. I am going to make this job much more interactive and all-inclusive; through the use of Web site media, scheduled events and local connections, I hope to provide an even larger stage for student participation and interest.
